GMCLA YouTube Videos

GMCLA mixes high-quality production values and vocal style to create fully-staged shows, whatever the repertoire being performed. Here’s a selection of video clips.  These and many others are available for viewing on the GMCLA YouTube Channel but, of course, the best way to experience GMCLA is to come to one of our shows! It Gets Better

On October 24, 2010, 200 people gathered in a Los Angeles school gymnasium. Together they sang their support for LGBT youth, recording this video as GMCLA’s contribution to the It Gets Better Campaign.

We’re very grateful to everyone—the production team, the community members, the GMCLA singers—who volunteered their time and talents to create this testament to the power of voices raised in song. You can also read an article that appears in The Advocate about the chorus' effort.

This video has drawn over 734,000 views to date. Growing from this experience, GMCLA has partnered with the It Gets Better Project and Speak Theater Arts to create the it gets better tour.

LeAnn Rimes & GMCLA - The Rose

LeAnn Rimes joined the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles to pay tribute to LGBT youth everywhere, honoring the memory of those who have taken their lives in desperation, those who struggle with anti-gay bullying and discrimination—and reminding everyone that It Gets Better!

Lux Aurumque

Eric Whitacre's Lux Aurumque—arranged for the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles by the composer—performed at the Alex Theater, December 2001 during GMCLA's first performance following the 9/11 tragedy.

We Need A Little Do-Re-Mi

The Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles performs a medley of two famous theater songs: Jerry Herman's We Need A Little Christmas from MAME, along with Rodgers and Hammerstein's Do-Re-Mi from THE SOUND OF MUSIC. Recorded live at The Alex Theatre, December 2008.

Choreography by Mark Chung.

We  Belong

The Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles packed Hollywood's Avalon Theater for four performances of this cavalcade of 1980s hits.

Revolution!

Long before Stonewall, gay men and women had to fight for basic social, political and legal rights. Their fight to break down these barriers continues today. This video uses GMCLA's Mighty Voice to celebrate the revolutionary spirit that gave birth to a movement, and calls to action the next generation of revolutionaries—the Children of the Revolution.

Produced by chorus member Tim Atzinger.

The Bitch of Living

The Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles performs the hit from Broadway's "Spring Awakening," choreographed by Billy Rugh. Recorded live at the Alex Theatre, June 2009. The final concert conducted by artistic director Dr. Bruce Mayhall.

Hairspray Flash Mob!

Hollywood Forever provided the perfect backdrop for the first-ever Sing-Along on Sunday, July 31st. Nikki Blonsky, star of Hairspray, worked the crowd and before anyone knew it, a flash mob to "You Can't Stop the Beat" took over the Fairbanks Lawn.

A VIP Party hosted by Tyler Cassity and Nikki Blonsky preceded the evening's screening with invited guests and the CA Speaker of the Assembly, Hon. John Perez and West Hollywood Mayor, Hon. John Duran.
