A sensational evening: HAIRSPRAY sing-along • Sunday, July 31, 2011

Nikki Blonsky, winner of 2007 Critics Choice Award and Golden Globe nominee for her starring role in Hairspray, hosted the Hairspray Sing-Along VIP Party, as well as entertained all the attendees before the movie began.

Flash Mob!

Hollywood Forever provided the perfect backdrop for the first-ever Sing-Along on Sunday, July 31st.  Nikki Blonsky, star of Hairspray, worked the crowd and before anyone knew it, a flash mob to "You Can't Stop the Beat" took over the Fairbanks Lawn.  A VIP Party hosted by Tyler Cassity and Nikki Blonsky preceded the evening's screening with invited guests and the CA Speaker of the Assembly, Hon. John Perez and West Hollywood Mayor, Hon. John Duran. 

Through the gracious underwriting efforts of HBO and Hollywood Forever as well as many other sponsors, Almost $80,000 was raised on Sunday for GMCLA's music education program - the Alive Music Project.  We look forward to next year's Night under the Stars and another spectacular Sing-Along!
