LOS ANGELES, CA (September 8, 2025) – The Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles (GMCLA) is pleased to announce its 2025-2026 Season, now in its 47th year. Music Director & Conductor Ernest H. Harrison leads nearly 200 Chorus members in A Season of Celebration not to be missed. The season opens with Los Angeles’ favorite holiday tradition featuring HOLIDAY LEGENDS in December 2025, followed by a celebration of R&B, Motown, and gospel with AND THE BEAT GOES ON in March 2026, and culminates with GMCLA’s signature PRIDE concert and annual Gala, DECLARATIONS OF INDEPENDENCE, a special celebration of our national and individual freedom and pride. All concerts will be held at the historic Saban Theatre. Tickets for the three-concert subscription package are now on sale at www.GMCLA.org.
Following this Season of Celebration in Los Angeles, GMCLA will embark on a European tour beginning in late July and running through early August 2026. The Chorus is one of five
ensembles from around the globe invited to perform at events during World Pride, hosted for the first time in Amsterdam, including a concert at the famed Concertgebouw. After this landmark week, GMCLA will continue to London for several performances at the Actors’ Church in historic Covent Garden.
“There’s much to celebrate this season — our return to the Saban; three wonderfully diverse and exciting programs beginning with Los Angeles’ favorite holiday event, followed by some of the most beloved and original American music ever written, and concluding with a celebration of freedom and independence presented as only GMCLA can,” shared Executive Director & Producer Lou Spisto. He added, “We haven’t been overseas in 20 years, so this 10-day tour gives our extended Southern California family yet another reason to take pride in GMCLA, and perhaps more importantly, as we mark our independence, we think it’s essential to share our music and message with a global community of artists, friends, and fans.”

This year, Los Angeles’ favorite singing and dancing holiday spectacular is all about the legends – from traditions, myths, and folklore to the iconic songs and performers who made them famous. We’ll celebrate Santa, Rudolph, the Grinch, and gold standard holiday music from Mariah Carey, Irving Berlin, Johnny Mathis, and many more. GMCLA’s 200 magnificent voices will perform traditional choral classics, pop Christmas anthems, and Hanukkah favorites in a show that will be truly legendary!
AND THE BEAT GOES ON
Saban Theatre | Beverly Hills

From gospel, R&B, Motown, and Broadway, GMCLA brings the beat, rhythm, and heart and soul of some of the best music ever written. We’ve got the greatest hits from the icons like Stevie Wonder and the Temptations, to the musicals that really groove like Dreamgirls and The Wiz. Stunning gospel works will showcase the power GMCLA’s 200 voices, making this a one-of-a-kind musical event.
DECLARATIONS OF INDEPENDENCE
Saban Theatre | Beverly Hills

As the U.S. turns 250, we raise our voice for independence and pride with powerhouse songs that are both communal and personal. The Chorus will perform some of the most important and exciting music ever written – from the iconic protest songs of Guthrie, Dylan, and Lennon, to the heart-stopping personal (and proudly gay) anthems from La Cage aux Folles, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Rent, Wicked, and The Wizard of Oz. It’s a remarkable celebration of nation, community, and every individual seeking freedom.
GMCLA Season 47 three-concert subscription packages are now on-sale at GMCLA.org. Single tickets for HOLIDAY LEGENDS will go on sale at a later date to be announced.
GAY MEN’S CHORUS OF LOS ANGELES, under the leadership of Executive Director & Producer Lou Spisto and Music Director & Conductor Dr. Ernest H. Harrison, is in its 47th year of music and service. GMCLA continues to garner acclaim for artistic excellence while remaining deeply rooted in service to the Los Angeles community and beyond by promoting civil rights, tolerance, and acceptance through music. Founded in 1979 during the emergence of the gay rights movement, GMCLA has raised its collective voice in the movement toward equality, social justice, the AIDS crisis, the fight for marriage equality, and all those seeking to find their own voice. Critics have proclaimed the Chorus “inspired” and “expressive, innovative, and utterly moving,” and have hailed GMCLA for presenting “meaningful entertainment.” GMCLA’s free community concert program has provided access to concerts to thousands each year, and its innovative Alive Music Project has served over 100,000 high school students to date. GMCLA is delighted to return to Los Angeles’ historic Saban Theatre where our most recent season’s SugarPlum Fairies, Rhinestone Cowboys, and Dancing Queens were tremendously well received. The Chorus has performed at Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, Royce Hall, and the Alex Theatre, in addition to appearing at New York’s iconic Carnegie Hall, as well as touring throughout Europe, Russia, and South America. With these tours, as well as extensive presence on YouTube and social media, the Chorus has developed followers across the globe. To that end, in August 2026 GMCLA will embark on a European Tour. The Chorus is honored to be one of five ensembles invited to perform at events throughout World Pride Amsterdam, including a concert at the historic Concertgebouw. Following this exciting week, GMCLA will travel to the United Kingdom for several performances at the Actors Church in London’s Covent Garden.
